Coaches
Fred Hallett
Fred Hallett enters his fifth season at Nease High School as Boys Soccer Head Coach. He also teaches middle school P.E. in St. John’s County and coaches club-level teams at Florida Elite Soccer Academy.
The Geneva, Ohio native has been coaching for 20 years and teaching for 16. He holds his USSF D License as well as other Youth Development certifications. Experienced in developing players of varying ages and abilities Coach Hallett has coached multiple youth academies, middle school teams, club-level teams (ages 4-18), as well as numerous collegiate level I.D. camps.
Coach Hallett earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University in 2005. He played soccer and football for the Polar Bears. After graduation, he played semi-professional football for 4 years, and professional indoor football for 2. He holds multiple minor league football kicking records.
He and his wife, Sara, and their four boys, Asher, Micah, Luke and Sam and live in Fruit Cove.
Diego Sanudo-Ugarte
Diego A. Sanudo-Ugarte enters his fifth season at Nease High School as Boys Junior Varsity Head Coach. He also coaches club-level teams at Florida Elite Soccer Academy.
Coach Sanudo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He holds his Class A ATFA/AFA License as well as other youth development certifications. His former coaching position was at Professional Argentine Club Atletico Defensores De Belgrano (u13’s Head Coach).
In his youth, he played soccer for Ubaldo Matildo Fillol Futbol Academy & Marangoni Futbol Academy.
As a Programmer and Video Editor, Coach Sanudo specializes in Soccer Applications and Video Tactical Analysis.
Tony Cardenas
Tony Cardenas enters his second season at Nease High School as the Boys Soccer Asst. Coach. He has previously coached club-level teams in Indiana, Illinois, and most recently, at Florida Elite Soccer Academy for seven years. The Portage, Indiana native, has been coaching for 25 years and holds a USSF D and National Youth license.
Coach Cardenas was the head coach at New Haven, Concordia Lutheran, and Snider High Schools in Indiana. He has been an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level at IPFW and has served as a staff coach at the University of Notre Dame and Valparaiso University’s collegiate camps. In 2004, Coach Cardenas led the Snider High School Panthers to a state runner-up finish.
Coach Cardenas earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Francis, his master’s degree from Indiana University, and is the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Florida Gateway College. He and his wife, Nikki, have two sons, Antonio and Nicholas, and live in St. Johns, Florida.

Please make the commitment to your athlete to assist with one or more volunteer needs this season. We need assistance at the Ticket Booth, Concessions and at all events for scoring, timing, equipment adjustments, etc.
If you will be driving students, you will need to complete the following form and provide a copy of your Driver’s License and a declaration from your auto insurance company, verifying your coverage amount. Please return this form to a Coach.
